A new rosin with a long history
The story of this rosin starts in the late ninetheenth century with S A Deroux of Mirecourt who manufactured a rosin of a sufficient quality to make the most of the fine bows being made at the time. The best bow makers stamped their bows so when Max and Roger Milant succeeded Deroux in rosin production, they stamped each cake with "MD". Today the company is run by Alexandre Thorvaldsson who oversees the manufacture of the Millant Deroux range of rosins in an old farmhouse located in a little village 30 miles east of Lyon.
Gold Silver rosin is a new addition to the range and was developed as an alternative to the stickier Millant dark. It's a light rosin which gives a clean and pure sound and gets a low 3 out of five for stickiness on the Dance of Delight stickiness scale.

| The rosin is attached to a cloth to help keep your fingers rosin-free, and the cake measures 3.7 centimetres across, 2.3 centimetres high. A tight-fitting, push-down lid helps keep the air out, the rosin fresh and your violin case free from sticky bits of broken rosin. A sensible design!
